Clergy

Our spiritual leader is Rabbi Jarah Greenfield, a 2009 graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Rabbi Greenfield is in residence two shabbat weekends a month, and teaches in our Children’s Learning Center several times a month. She leads our Gan Katan preschool program and instructs our b’nai mitzvah class on various aspects of the Torah, Jewish ethics and Jewish life. Rabbi Greenfield also teaches Beit Midrash (adult education) classes throughout the year on a variety of topics related to liturgy and prayer, the weekly torah portions, and human rights.

Student Cantor Lois Kittner came to RTBI in 2004 out of curiosity as a congregant, and became our congregational cantor in 2007. She leads services several times a month, teaches adult learners how to chant torah and haftarah, and teaches our b’nai mitzvah students about torah reading and services. Cantor Lois is a canotrial student at Academy of Jewish Religion in Riverdale, New York.

We also have several able lay leaders who conduct services for the community when the rabbi or cantor are not available.
